The website of the Association of Optometrists (The AOP). Providing legal news and updates for UK Optometrists.
The General Optical Council (The GOC) is the UK regulatory body for optometrists and dispensing opticians. This link takes you to their website, whereby you can search the current registration status of a UK optometrist, dispensing optician or optical practice.
The College of Optometrists is the UK's professional, scientific and examining body for optometry. They support their members and work for the benefit of the public. Their website details latest research news, links to stories from across the profession and members can also access the College's own scientific journal, "Optometry in Practice".
The DOCET website is a great resource for CET points for optometrists, providing video presentations of different aspects of optometry. Interactive CET points are also available here.
By far one of my favourite online resources for clinical news and developments in optometry. It is US based, but a lot of the clinical stories and training have a huge wealth of use in UK optometry.
A great journal for keeping up to date with the latest contact lens news and developments, with a focus on clinical scenarios and complex fitting.
This informative website covers researched optometric and ophthalmological topics with a good focus on LASIK (refractive surgery).
